Robust Transmission Design for RIS-Aided Communications With Both Transceiver Hardware Impairments and Imperfect CSI

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) or reflecting (IRS) has recently been envisioned as one of the most promising technologies in future sixth-generation (6G) communications. In this letter, we consider joint optimization transmit beamforming at base station (BS) and phase shifts RIS for an RIS-aided wireless communication system with both hardware impairments imperfect channel state information (CSI). Specifically, assume BS-user BS-RIS-user are due to estimation error, error under statistical CSI model. Then, power BS is minimized, subject outage probability constraint unit-modulus constraints on elements. By using Bernstein-type inequality semidefinite relaxation (SDR) reformulate constraints, transform problem into a programming (SDP) problem. Numerical results show that proposed robust design algorithm can ensure quality user presence CSI.
